Tendonitis is inflammation in a tendon or tendon covering. It can be caused by a sudden injury but is most often the result of repetitive activity such as typing, or sports, such as swimming, tennis or golf. The symptoms of tendonitis can range from tenderness or stiffness to pain, which is worse with movement or activity.

As its name suggests, frozen shoulder causes significant loss of the range of motion of the shoulder joint in all directions. Frozen shoulder may result from inflammation, scarring, thickening and shrinkage of the capsule that surrounds the normal shoulder joint. Any injury to the shoulder can lead to frozen shoulder, including tendonitis, bursitis and rotator cuff injury. Sometimes your movement is so restricted it is difficult to even carry out day-to-day activities such as getting dressed.
A bursa is a fluid-filled sac located between a bone and a tendon or muscle. It allows the tendon to slide smoothly over the bone. These fluid filled sacs are located in the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and ankle joints. When they become inflamed due to overuse, stress or direct trauma to the joint, you may experience a dull ache, stiffness and swelling. This condition often occurs along with tendonitis.
